KALEIDO'S "MORE FOR THE SCHOOLYARD" CONTEST

Terrebonne's Jeunes du Monde school wins grand prize of $25,000 to beautify its outdoor playground

Quebec City, June 6, 2024 – Kaleido, a pioneer and specialist in education savings since 1964, is proud to announce the winner of the MORE for the schoolyard contest. Terrebonne's Jeunes du monde elementary school wins the grand prize of $25,000 to bring its dream playground to life.

The contest, launched last fall in the run-up to Kaleido's 60th anniversary, has been a hit with schools and daycare centres across Quebec. The official announcement and presentation of the award took place on June 6 at the Jeunes du monde school, in the presence of Kaleido and Jeunes du monde school leaders, teaching staff and enthusiastic students.

"This innovative contest, held as a part of celebrations to mark our 60th anniversary, demonstrates our desire to make a concrete, positive difference in the lives of kids, and to offer support that goes beyond financial assistance," said Isabelle Grenier, President and CEO of Kaleido. “Given the popularity of the competition and the level of participation, which far exceeded our expectations, we are already hard at work planning a 2nd edition of this initiative for next year, to continue supporting the ongoing development of our young people at school. "

"We would like to thank Kaleido and its ongoing commitment to young people's success. While the schoolyard is a place of fun and movement, it's also a place of discovery, where children can socialize and learn," added Annie Sarrazin, principal of the Jeunes du monde school. "We were already dreaming of redesigning our playground. A committee had already been set up, and this additional budget comes at just the right time. There's no doubt that our kids will benefit. "

The $25,000 will be used to fit out an outdoor classroom, including benches and a new chalkboard, as well as the preschool playground, with the addition of outdoor furniture and trees. Work is scheduled to start in the summer 2024, so that students will benefit from the new building in time for the start of the new school year in September.
